Using a Non-Standard Pipe Type in HydraCALC

A customer called today asking how to enter a 1″ black plastic underground pipe for the calc. This particular situation sounded unique enough that I did not tell him to add that pipe type to our database, as I would have if he expected to see this pipe type used repeatedly. I told him to…

i found this while hunting around the internets for a solution to an unrelated customer problem. The website this is from is really helpful and has a lot of topics I find useful. It is written by Lee Ambrosius,  the guy who wrote the AutoCAD for Dummies books. The site is: Hyperpics

By default, when you pick Help in 2011 you are redirected to the online help on AutoCAD website. This was done so that they can update the help files and you can see the updated content. The problem is that this is a bit slower than offline help. If you want to set it back:

  1. Pick the Tools pull down menu and pick Options.
  2. In the Options dialog box, click the System tab.
  3. Under the Help section,
    • Clear "Use Online Help from Autodesk Website when Available" if you
want to use the locally installed files.  All online connectivity is
disabled, unless you click an external link which will load a requested
      page.
    • Check "Use Online Help from Autodesk Website when Available" to use
the online version of the help documentation. (It is located here: http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2011/ENU
  4. For the Help Browser section, select if you want to use Internet
Explorer or your Default System Browser.  Default System Browser means,
use Firefox or Chrome if it is set as your default Web browser on your
    workstation.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
